Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here! I’m Killian.
I’m a physical therapist in Nashville, TN. I’m also a runner, dog lover, and sports enthusiast. Outside of work you can usually find me on a walk with my husband and pups, frequenting my favorite Nashville coffee shops, or with family and friends.
I’m originally from Michigan and moved to Nashville 7 years ago for PT school. After completing 4 clinical rotations, graduating with my Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree, and helping numerous people rehab injuries, I thought I was bulletproof to injury and pain. Boy was I wrong…
During a continuing education course, I sustained a low back injury that left me with severe, shooting pain down my leg for months.
I tried modifying my daily activities and workouts - but nothing seemed to work. I even decreased the distance of my runs. I was desperate to find a solution.
My mission is to help you realize that your body is strong and resilient. Let’s keep you running for life!
After dealing with pain for most of the summer, I started to see a physical therapist. I worked with them for 6 months, but my treatment consisted mostly of hands-on work and a few light exercises to do at home. I’d experience some short term relief, but I still struggled with chronic pain on a daily basis.
Then, to start off 2022, I was advised to completely stop running and lifting.
Running and strength training have always been a big part of my life. They aren’t just things that make me feel good physically, they’re a major source of stress relief.
Without being able to exercise how I enjoy, my anxiety was at an all time high.
I wasn’t sleeping well.
I was afraid to move at the thought of doing more “damage” to my back.
I realized that running and strength training are vital parts of my life.
Without them, I felt lost, fragile, and honestly, depressed.
After months of very limited progress, I decided that I wasn’t going to let my injury stop me from doing things that I love.
So, I developed my own plan. I started running and lifting and progressed both as I could tolerate.
A couple months later, I was back to running 2 miles without pain, had a strength training program back in place, and felt mentally lighter.
I finally started to feel more confident that my body could bounce back from injury…
This experience made me want to help others realize that their bodies are NOT fragile.
I know what it’s like to feel discouraged, like you’ll never run or train without pain again.
Hell, I didn’t think I’d be able to sit or pick something up off the ground without pain again. And that’s why I’m dedicated to helping you overcome the obstacles you’re facing.
Honestly, I’m grateful to have encountered this challenge, to have experienced this much pain and come out the other side. It helped me understand what you may be going through.
Pain or injury does not mean you have to give up the workouts you love.
My mission is to help you realize that your body is strong and resilient.
Don’t let yourself suffer for months before addressing your injury.
I know how important it is to you to stay active.
That’s why my first priority is to get you back to running and training.
YOU deserve quality care and a program that takes into account YOUR goals. Stop settling for less than you deserve and let me help get you back in the race!
I look forward to helping you create a program that gets you back to living your most fulfilling life.
What Makes Me Different
1:1 sessions
You always receive 1-on-1, individualized rehab care. This allows me to focus on you to decrease your recovery time. You will not share me with two other patients or be handed off to a PTA or tech after 30 minutes like larger physical therapy clinics.
Treatment ease
Busy life? Can’t make a physical therapy visit every week? No problem! I offer in person sessions, remote telehealth visits, and a hybrid model for your convenience. I also offer remote programming for those outside of Tennessee.
Continue training
Tired of being told to stop all activity due to an injury? I prioritize your ability to continue exercising and training throughout the rehab process. That is what physical therapy is for- to help you modify aggravating activities while you heal, not completely stop them.
